I think your limitations in life are the result of the people around you.
And one of the mistakes I see is the people actually divert their energy amongst too many things. It’s hard to be really good at a lot of things.
You want to choose the things that are most important product and people. And you want to keep getting better at those things.
I think people who may not be lucky to have grown up in an environment that is inspiring or encouraging or easy. It’s tough for the most part. You can really fight for your environment.
There’s a great saying by Charlie Munger and he says avoiding stupidity is more important than seeking brilliance.
So instead of saying, what’s the smartest thing to do. Say, what’s the most stupid thing to do?
If you can avoid making stupid decisions I think you’re going to be successful.
